The project proposes the implementation of an integrated community beekeeping model, where bees serve as the living link between social development and environmental protection (on one hand, the project seeks their protection, and on the other, through this diversity of bees, it is possible to generate by-products such as honey and contribute to the economic well-being of the families involved).
Community beekeeping allows for:
- Generating sustainable income for rural families (with a focus on peasant women)
- Strengthening pollination and biodiversity
- Encouraging the protection of soils and water sources
Promoting a balanced relationship between community and territory
MODEL:
This model is complemented by an ecological nursery and water spring protection actions, creating a system in which the survival of bees depends on healthy ecosystems and, in turn, drives environmental regeneration.
The initiative will be developed on land owned by FUNDESIA and by previously selected families, ensuring community ownership and long-term viability.
